Weather Policy

We aim to build resilience by being outdoors rain or shine, therefore we run our program in all kinds of weather. As the Norwegian saying goes, “there’s no bad weather, only bad preparation”. We think there’s a lot of truth to that, but there also conditions where clothing and gear are not enough. Weather conditions are monitored daily and regularly throughout the session to ensure the safety of program participants. We will cancel or end a program early under any of these conditions:

  • High winds (sustained at or above 40kms/hr or gusting at or above 70kms/hr)

  • Extreme heat (at or above 33°C)*

  • Low temperatures (at or below -10°C with the windchill

  • Thunder and lightning

*Extreme heat closures will be informed by the location in which we run our programs. Often we have dense forest and access to streams which reduces the local temperature by several degrees. Under those conditions we may continue our program.
In the event of a closure, we will give parents/guardians as much notice as possible and we will do our
best to accommodate a make-up session.

Refund Policy

Refunds can be issued if they are requested 15 days or more before the session start date. We will
withhold a $50 processing charge for all refunds to account for our administration time. If we are unable to fill your spot, we reserve the right to withhold all funds on withdrawals made 15 days or less before the program start date as well as during the program.

Once enrolled, you will not be refunded during the session for days your child does not attend.
Refunds are not issued for weather-related closures, but we will do our best to accommodate a make-up session.

Full refunds will be given if we need to cancel a program due to insufficient registration.
